Time to put 2007 in the books and look forward. For the first time ever, I'm making a New Year's resolution (though as my friend, Chris, pointed out, back when I drank I may have made hundreds of them and just not remembered them.) As of now, I am going back on the diet and exercise program that had me lose 40 lbs. and get in great shape a few years back. I've tried a variety of other things since putting the weight back. From rigid diets and community sports to simply eating less and exercising occasionally, but nothing has worked. It seems since getting medicated and far less depressed, I haven't had the deep well of rage and anger to draw on that I used to get to the gym 6 times a week. And 45 pounds, a liver biopsy, and a dental apparatus for sleep apnia later, I've decided that I really need to get to the gym. So goodbye, carrot cake. Farewell, peanut butter cookies. Au revoir, boneless rib-eye in a red wine tarragon reduction with three cheese baked mashed potatoes. The list is too long, and I don't have time to write them all down--I'm off to the gym. | | No comments for this item |

Well, it was bound to happen sooner or later. I'd hoped to be prepared for it, but even though I had everything nearly set up to do automatic backups, I just hadn't gotten around to it. And now... My main computer's hard drive has crapped out. Novels, stories, art, contacts, ideas....argh. They're trying to recover the data at my usual repair shop, and if they can't get it there, they have a data recovery service they ship it to. If that doesn't work I think I have to use the FBI. And when (not if, damnit!) I get the data recovered, first order of business is to setup an automatic backup system. Like I should have been doing already. | | No comments for this item |
